Resources

New Day Products & Resources offers four different types of services for persons with disabilities. These services are called Employment Planning, Community Employment, Organizational Employment, and Developmental Disabilities.

  • Employment Planning Services

The purpose of this service is to provide information needed to make vocational decisions. The service uses in-house situational assessments, community-based tryouts, developed job placements and standardized testing as a means of gathering information about job options and opportunities. The programs vary in length from two days to four weeks. After the completion of the service a report is written and shared. Information regarding vocational strengths and needs are offered to provide a strong basis from which to make vocational choices.

  • Community Employment Services

This service provides businesses with competent workers. Supported employment services include a careful matching of worker abilities to job requirements, specialized training provided by a job coach on the work site, and follow-up services for as long as the worker is employed at the competitive work site. The job coach is available to return to the job site at any time after the person has become independent on the job. This return could be for skill enhancement, training on a new job, improvement in socialization, or any other work-related need.

  • Organizational Employment Services

This in-house program is designed to provide disabled persons with a variety of subcontract and prime manufacturing work. This may include, but is not limited to, custom wood containers, pallet repair, survey stake manufacturing, lath manufacturing, bulk mailing operations, trophy assembly, engraving, screen printing, laundry, and custodial maintenance. To receive services, sponsorship must be in place.

  • Developmental Disabilities Services

The purpose of this program is to teach and maintain life skills to the degree where they are functional for you. To accomplish this goal most of the skills training will occur at the participant’s home or in the community. Center based groups help the participant learn how to cook, and teach the participant social skills. Each participant enrolled in this program will help develop an individual written plan based on his/her own needs, goals, preferences, and interests. Once a program is developed, the participant is placed in as normal a situation as possible and the least restrictive alternative will be used.

Additional Admissions Criteria

To enroll in a New Day Products & Resources program, the participant must be 18 years of age or older, have a disability, not pose a danger to himself or others, have needs that can be met at New Day Products & Resources, be able to be unsupervised for periods of 15 to 30 minutes, and have fee sponsorship. This assistance is generally provided by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, the Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and local School Districts.

The Adult Living Center provides social skills, community interaction, and life skills in a positive setting.  The participants of the Adult Living Center attend events in the community.  They go on field trips to places such as the gym and participate in crafts, crafts, and games.
